The Revelation Update

Washington Times: Regulation Stunts Growth

In the Washington Times’ Article, “Regulation Stunts Growth,” Tim Devaney reveals the frustration of the American businessman to compete not only against other businesses in a tougher global market, but also to compete against the American government’s own red tape. In an interview with Business Roundtable leader John Engler, Engler expressed serious misgivings about the current regulatory system, namely that there is too much of it. Interestingly enough, this well-known business leader had the worst qualms with the EPA. “Many of their regulations are the most expensive and apply over the longest period of time.” Sadly, this drastic type of regulation affects not only the corporate businesses, but also the American workers who desperately need jobs. For example, the Keystone Pipeline, which would’ve created 20,000 jobs and decreased our drastic reliance upon foreign oil, will take at least a few years to regulate and test just so that the President can make a decision. This government has simply grown too large for its own good. Evidences of this can be seen in the extreme amounts of red tape wrapped around businesses on any income level in the country who’s mantra was once total economic freedom. Because of this, our own economic growth is stunted, leaving us with less money and much less hope.
